Since birth, over 500 children and their families have participated in the Epidemiology of Home Allergens and asthma Study, which investigates the health effects of environmental exposures that may reduce or increase the risk of asthma and allergy in later childhood. During the fall of 2010 (when our participants start turning 16!) we will be entering the final phase of our study by revisiting New England area families in their homes. At the home visit, as before, we will conduct lung function testing, allergy testing, collect dust samples, record height and weight, and ask questions about families’ homes and the children’s health. Does the environment influence boys and girls differently? This is what we hope we can determine during our next and final data collection phase starting this fall! If we have not contacted you about this home visit yet, we will be in touch. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

New Teen Questionnaire!
Online and Confidential
Since the age of 10 we have been asking the children in our study about their respiratory health, growth and activities via a questionnaire sent in the mail around their birthday. With parental permission, we would now like to ask these questions via a secure and protected website. But don’t worry; you will still receive a gift each year you complete the questionnaire!
